Milwaukee Dance Theatre and Present Music Present ANTIGONEThursday, March 6th- Sunday, March 9th, 2008Milwaukee Dance Theatre teams up with PRESENT MUSIC for a provocative retelling of the classic tale, Antigone, written and directed by Milwaukee Dance Theatre’s Isabelle Kralj and Mark Anderson, with music composed by Present Music’s Eric Segnitz. Typical of MDT’s style, the story is advanced through different modes of theatrical storytelling involving dialogue, movement, and music. This new version of Sophocles’ classic has been distilled to seven characters, performed by four actors: Kralj, Anderson, Ed Burgess, and James Butchart, and focuses on the clash between the strict rule of law and human sentiment. The collaboration between these two companies promises an exciting mix of theater and music. |
