For anyone who heard soprano Adrienne Danrich sing at Next Act’s Robeson concert in February of 2009, there was no doubt: she blew the doors off the place! Ms. Danrich returns to the intimate Off-Broadway with her own one-woman musical tribute to Marian Anderson and Leontyne Price. The ground-breaking careers of these two extraordinary opera legends will be celebrated in photographs, speeches, famous recordings and—of course—the glorious sounds of Adrienne’s own “fresh liquid-silver” voice. The amazing Ms. Danrich was herself inspired by the strength,the courage and the artistry of Anderson and Price, two international artists who overcame racial barriers in pursuit of the music they loved.
