Long before his professional theatre debut, David busied himself in his basement performing radical surgery on most electronic devices. Eventually he put down his soldering gun in favor of just twirling the knobs and has since designed sound effects and scores for over 70 professional productions. Favorite sound designs include THE VOICE OF THE PRAIRIE, THE DRESSER, LAST OF THE BOYS, MARY'S WEDDING and MICROCRISIS. Working as a Foley artist, however, brings sound to a whole new level of fun. David has also served as Next Act’s Producing Artistic Director for nearly 21 years. He has acted in and directed many NAT productions, and has also produced a half-dozen live radio shows for past Halloween parties and Next Act fundraisers. David places full responsibility for his errant theatrical career squarely on his engineer-father's shoulders; the man who enjoyed countless hours listening to music, singing, making goofy tapes for kids and relatives, operated a ham (oh yeah) radio, loved telling jokes in foreign accents, and bought the Longines Symphonette Society albums that taught his son about radio. Thanks, Dad.
