"If such music doesn't move you, you cannot be moved."

-- Minneapolis Spokesman Recorder

An All-American Rutgers athlete and lawyer with Columbia Law School credentials, Paul Robeson collides with early 20th century racism, leading him to develop his musical gift into a singing and stage career. After achieving international stardom as actor and activist, Robeson returns to the United States to struggle against injustice in the country he loves. Minneapolis actor Paul Mabon brings his powerful presence and rich bass voice to the Off-Broadway to paint, with words and with song, his original portrait of the incomparable Robeson.

"Last night I was moved to tears when I experienced Mr. Mabon's outstanding work. His powerful, beautiful voice and stage presence were the show! Throughout the performance, I couldn't help but think how poignant Paul Robeson's opinions and stands on the issues of the day ring true with present day situations. Thanks to everyone at Next Act for bringing this very timely performance to the stage."
